THEORY OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

V.F. PRYAKHIN DSc (political science), Club of Rome National Committee member

RELIGION AND MODERN TECHNOLOGICAL REVOLUTION

The new version of the concept of Russia's foreign policy was approved last February. The long-awaited document finally was published. Oddly enough the paper was willingly discussed by authors of the various segments of Russia’s political spectrum while it’s content was unknown. The first comments on publication however seem to be rather scarce and insipid. The reason of this the auther sees in the insignificant difference between the new and previous three versions since 1991.Nevertheless some new features are inserted into the passage dealing with the need to use the “soft power” to improve the Russia’s image to the world community. The thick stratum of domestic cultural and historical heritage is proposed to be used for this purpose more intensively.

Key words: Russia, foreign policy, concept, "soft power", cultural and historical heritage.
