"EURASIA" AND "EURASIAN SPACE" IN THE CONTEXT OF INTERPRETATIONS

The appeal to the interpretations of the concepts of “Eurasia” and “Eurasian space” is due to the need to expand the ideas about possible connotations used in the description of modern geopolitical, economic and socio-cultural processes.

The article aims to present the most frequently used interpretations of foreign researchers, which differ to some extent from the perception of Eurasia and the Eurasian space that is familiar to Russians through the concept of “Eurasianism” as a result of the development of Russian political thought in the XIX-XX centuries.. In an attempt to present the breadth and versatility of the modern perception of the concept of “Eurasia”, the author refers to the geopolitical concept of H. Mackinder, the studies of Golam Md. Mostafa, Nikolas K. Gvosdev, Abbott Gleeson, Michel Bruno, Mark Bassin, etc.

In conclusion, it is concluded that the attempt to consider various variants of the interpretation of the term “Eurasia”, including the relationship to the concept of “Eurasian space”, has shown their relevance in modern geopolitical discourse, where they serve as an ideological basis for determining and representing the geopolitical interests of countries. The connotations of their use are due to both geostrategic plans and historical and cultural prerequisites that determine the position of the authors and the country regarding the Eurasian continent, which generates a variety in the variability of the interpretation of the concept of “Eurasia”.

Key words: Eurasia, Eurasianism, Eurasian space, geopolitical strategies, Land civilization and Sea civilization, interpretation and connotation of the term.

SCENARIOS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE STRATEGY OF THE FOREIGN POLICY OF THE UNITED STATES IN THE INDO-PACIFIC

The article deals with an urgent topic – the building of the US foreign policy course in the Indo-Pacific region aimed at comprehensive global domination. Such course is based on the increasing geopolitical presence of the United States in the region, including the military-political component. At the same time, the region-forming factor plays the key role in the formation of a new regional security architecture. The Pentagon's interest in the Indo-Pacific region is obvious. It is this region that is of paramount importance for the strategic plans of the military department. Due to the inextricable historical, cultural, and trade ties with the countries of the Indo-Pacific region, the United States declared itself a “Pacific nation”, giving it the determination and the right to build a new configuration of international relations.

SOCIOCULTURAL ASPECTS OF POWER RELATIONS IN MODERN RUSSIA

The problems of socio-cultural features of various societies, in particular local civilizations, seem relevant in the context of modern processes that represent a change in the basic principles of the existence of communities at the present stage. Traditional institutions and relations are becoming increasingly interconnected both with the latest practices and with phenomena that can be considered as sources. Sociocultural practices within the process of globalization and the reverse process of regionalization become the starting point in the study of power relations. Modern Russia is not an element excluded from such a relationship, therefore, the study of the socio-cultural roots of the ongoing phenomena of power relations is the most urgent and acute problem.

ETHNODEMOGRAPHIC ASPECTS OF MODERN BULGARIAN GEOPOLITICS

The article discusses ethno-demographic trends in modern Bulgarian society in terms of their impact on the Bulgarian national geopolitical consciousness. It is shown that Bulgaria ranks first in the world in terms of population decline, there is a depopulation of vast regions of the country, and the ethnic composition of the Bulgarian nation shows a steady tendency to decrease the share of the Bulgarian ethnic group in it. At the same time, the share of Turkish-Muslim and Gypsy minorities in the population structure is growing rapidly, they enjoy the financial and political support of Turkey and the United States and are concentrated in areas of compact residence, crowding out ethnic Bulgarians from there. A significant part of these minorities is alienated from Bulgaria and refuses to integrate into the multi-constituent Bulgarian nation. In such a situation, “Macedonization” is not ruled out, or – as the most negative possibility – the implementation of some kind of “Kosovoization” of Bulgaria.

Key words: ethno-demographic trends, Bulgarian nation, Bulgarian geopolitics, Turkish-Muslim and Gypsy minorities, Chief Mufti of Bulgaria, Movement for Rights and Freedoms, Dianet, Turkey.
