POLITICAL HISTORY OF THE 90S. BIALOWIEZA MIRACLE: NO GUNS, NO BUTTER

The article analyzes the socio-political and economic problems of post-Soviet reintegration. The role of the subjective factor in the reintegration processes of the former Union Republics. Special attention is paid to the problem of human rights violations according to the ethno-linguistic sign. Specially stressed is the need to determine the official status of Russian as the language of inter-ethnic communication.

ON THE ISSUE OF UKRAINIAN STATEHOOD

The author, relying on historical facts and analyzing normative and legal documents, comes to the conclusion that the old Russian state is not a form of Ukrainian statehood. Ukrainian statehood is born in the form of a "Cossack Republic", which became part of Russia on behalf of the Cossacks and their leader Bohdan Khmelnytsky; the sovereign Ukrainian statehood is formally fixed by the Documents of the Soviet power; the independence of Ukraine from the USSR is fixed by the Agreement on Creation of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

THE STATE SYSTEM AND POLITICAL STABILITY IN AFRICA

This article examines the relationship between the state systems of African countries with their political stability on the example of the Republic of Mali. The author offers an analysis of the specifics of the emergence of states in Africa, as well as ensuring their political stability. The author of the article concludes that the state structure of African countries can influence both positively and negatively their political stability.

ECONOMIC RELATIONS OF RUSSIA WITH UKRAINE ON THE BACKGROUND OF A NON-REGULATED POLITICAL CONFLICT

The article examines the main trends and problems in the development of trade and economic ties between Russia and Ukraine after the "Euromaidan" in the period 2014-2017. It is noted that the systemic crisis in Ukraine, the conflict with Russia over the Crimea and the Donbass and its international consequences had an extremely negative impact on bilateral cooperation. The author analyzes the impact of these factors and increased risks on bilateral trade between the Russia and Ukraine, on transit relations, industrial cooperation, mutual investment, and cooperation in the financial sector. The conclusion is made about the continuing disintegration of mutual economic ties, the prospects for the restoration of which in the conditions of the unsettled conflict are not yet clear, while the economic losses are borne by both sides.

The article analyzes the current problems of foreign policy. It is emphasized that the last decades are characterized by fundamental changes in the role and place of Russia in the world and, accordingly, by the emergence of new challenges in the internal and external policy implying the search for new approaches to ensuring national security of the country and its citizens.

EFFECTS OF MUTUAL AND FOREIGN TRADE OF THE MEMBER STATES OF THE EURASIAN ECONOMIC UNION: FACTORS OF CONTAINMENT AND GROWTH

The article analyzes the current state as well as the development factors of the single market of goods of the Eurasian Economic Union (Union). Positive effects have been revealed in the mutual and foreign trade of the integration association, considerable attention has been paid to the research of the factors holding back the growth of volumes of mutual trade. Offers and recommendations on increasing the effectiveness of the Eurasian integration are formulated.

THE POSSIBILITY OF APPLYING PARITY MONETARY POLICY IN THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA

Difficulties in foreign economic and foreign policy positions led to Armenia becoming a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). However, accession to the Union did not produce the expected economic effect. The absence of all possible trade advantages in the EEU area is connected with the policy of the Central Bank of Armenia, which pursues a policy of inflation titration. Carrying out a policy of a parity exchange rate would lead to the preservation of export volumes, as well as its increase in the territory of the EEU.
